Dany Foundation.com

The Dany Foundation has begun its activities in order to realise the dream of Dany Estevão, a leucemia patient in Lisbon. He dreamt of a comfortable residence for the many neglected capeverdian patients who have been transferred to Portugal for their medical treatment. It's our ambition to become an effective organisation with sufficient means within a short term so that we can accomplish our mission as soon as possible. Right now we already have at our disposal some hardworking and very enthusiastic volunteers in Holland and in Portugal. Furthermore it's our intention to closely cooperate with related organisations in Portugal (i.e. FASCP, Fundo de Apoio Social de Cabo-Verdianos), in Holland and maybe in the future also in other countries.

The board of directors of the Dany Foundation consists of three persons.

                                                       Grace Beatriz: President. Living in Haarlem, Holland.
                                                       Her contact with Dany Estevão ultimately led to the birth
                                                       of the Dany Foudation. Ever since she started to promote
                                                       her book " Saudades do Dany" in april 2005, she has been
                                                       working for the cause of the capeverdian patients in
                                                       Portugal. The media attention that she received has
                                                       contributed a great deal to a wider understanding of the
                                                       the miserable conditions in which capeverdian patients
                                                       have to live in Portugal.


Dr. Frederico Sanches: Secretary. Doctor of capeverdean descent, resident of Lisbon, Portugal. Member of various medical asociations. He is an active spokesman for the improvement of medical care in Cape verde and for more cooperation of all the insitutions which are involved (read his A Semana (04-05-2006) and A Semana (18-05-2006) ).

Peter Tjong: Treasurer. Living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Webmaster of this website. His other activities for the Dany Foundation include fundraising and promotion.
